Memorial Rings

Description

For those who suffer a loss, I offer memorial rings made with the birth stone, similar color opal, and hair, ash, cemetery soil, special piece of clothing, or other personal items that can fit or made to fit into a ring.

I use either a tungsten single channel or double channel core to display the birthstone and personal effect.

Since memorial rings are deeply personal to everyone, I can customize the ring to fit what you feel best represents your loved one.

Unlike other rings, if you order a memorial ring, you will need to send me a small amount of remains or other personal effects before I can get started on the ring. I will treat the remains with the utmost of respect and return any unused portion with the ring.

The pictured memorial rings are two that I made for my wife and myself. They contain turquoise, a light blue opal, and small portion of hair from our deceased son’s identical twin brother. Our son passed in utero, causing a stroke for his brother.

Our rings represent both the loss and the resilience that we see in our other son who has over-come every obstacle that has come his way.

Your ring will be a personal expression of your loved one and can be made with materials, including:

• cremation ashes
• cemetery soil
• fabric or clothing piece
• hair
• birth stones
• favorite color (usually using opal)

How It Works

I will reach out to you through e-mail to confirm what materials you would like used, including birthstones, colors, etc.

I can send you a vial or you can use your own plastic bag or container to send me the remains.

Once I receive the remains, I will create the ring.

When done, I will send you the ring and any remains left over.

Caring for Memorial Rings

Like other tungsten rings, memorial rings are pretty durable.

You can wear the ring during most activities, though you may want to consider taking it off when swimming or submerging your hands in water for long hours or if you are doing any activity that puts stress on your hands.

Make sure to remove your ring before sleeping. If you are not wearing it, store it in a generally dry room, like your bedroom.

If you work with chemicals, similar to acetone (nail polish remover), you may want to take your ring off to avoid damaging the finish.
